Yup, Mary Morgan, YSFIRC’s new Sailing Director, arrived Sept. 1. She’s quickly getting up to speed, and laying the groundwork for a fun and exciting fall sailing season for our young sailors. Friday morning we found found her working out the fall regatta schedule with Executive Director Stu Keiller. We’re going to be a very busy bunch this season!
Mary is looking forward to getting to know our Indian River County youth sailors, and getting out on the water with them.
Our high school 420 sailors from Vero Beach High School will be getting underway next Friday, Sept. 9, at 2:30 p.m. Our younger Optimist sailors start the following day, on Saturday, Sept. 10. at 9 a.m. Then, on Sunday, Sept. 11, students from Indian River Charter High School and St. Edward’s will take the helm. Home school students also participate in our programs.
For the grown-ups, you might want to check out our Adult Sailing page here – that program starts in November – or you might want to help support our programs by volunteering or donating. We love and depend on our supporters!!
