Children’s Sailing at Youth Sailing Foundation
Come join us on the beautiful Indian River Lagoon for fun and excitement learning to sail the world famous Opti pram. We will teach your children the fundamentals of sailing starting with safety. Boat nomenclature, basic maneuvers, marlinspike seamanship (knots) and weather are taught in our classroom. On the waterfront children are taught to rig and launch their boat. Out on the water the thrill of piloting one’s own vessel through tacks and jibes provides lots of fun and a feeling of accomplishment.
Free Children’s Sailing Classes are held on Saturdays during the school year. Children (ages 9-14) must be residents of Indian River County and pass a swim test.
